Daniel Boyarin is the Hermann P. and Sophia Taubman Emeritus Professor of Talmudic Culture and was appointed in the Departments of Near Eastern Studies and Rhetoric from 1990 until his retirement in 2021. He was affiliated to the  Department of Women and Gender Studies, a core faculty member for the minor in Gay and Lesbian Studies and the designated emphasis in Women, Sexuality, Gender Studies, as well as a member of the graduate group in Ancient History and Mediterranean Archaeology and the Center for the Study of Sexual Culture.
